Gameplay

Spirecrest introduces a few new things to the game, which all include hiking along a path with your hiking bunny along the everdell map!

Everytime a player prepares for season they will walk and CHART with their bunny along a path collecting one of the remaining tiles with a possibility to score more points at the end of the game.

Next up, players will DISCOVER, revealing 3 cards of the region they are in, giving them some new power that sticks around for the rest of the game. There are some big critters with unique abilities and some other powerfull stuff.

Lastly, that player takes a big step to the next seasonpoint and REVEALs the new charts that were hidden up till that point. Also the new weather condition will be revealed, a condition that players will have to take into account depending the season they are in.

At the end of the game the bunnies will hike there on charted pathways, which comes down to having enough resources and cards in order to score some big bonusses.

Thoughts

At first I was a bit afraid that this (or any at all really) expansion would be too much for Everdell. The way the base game plays can already be quite complex, with a lot of combinations you would want to consider.

Because the additions to this game don't really interfere with those combinations particularly, it really doesn't feel much more complex as the base game. It does however add a whole lot of funness! Having an extra 'thing' during the prepare for season action ensures you're not sitting back, but you actually have a lot to do!

I really like the extra added powers of the big critters as well, how fun it is to place a big bear or wolf on the board!!

I'm giving away an Everdell and an Overboss to celebrate my websites launch! Check it out!
