Gameplay
👻 In Mists over Carcassonne, the rules are basically the same as in a regular game of Carcassonne, with the introduction of ghosts and misty fields! Tiles containing mists and ghosts can be placed as usual, placing as many ghosts as indicated on the tile.
👻 When a mist is ‘completed’, the ghosts within this mist will go back to the supply. When players choose to cut-off the mist (this is possible), the ghosts will remain on the tile(s) until the end of the game.
👻 Whenever there are no ghosts left to place, the players lose the game. When the players cross 50 points before this, the players win the game.
Thoughts
Mists over Carcassonne is a fun way to play Carcassonne in a cooperative way or even solitaire. I would recommend it when you adore the base game and like cooperative games.
👍Solid twist on the classic game Carcasonne, has a nice challenge
👍There is a nice tension of the ghosts popping up quickly
👍The game includes 6 difficulty levels
👍 It’s fun there is also a solo available!
➖ Like with Pandemic, since there is no hidden play, one dominant player can take over the game a bit. On the other hand you can make some agreements about this
Solomode
The solovariant works solid, you basically play with multiple colors, trying to reach the same goals as in the multiplayer variant.
