Gameplay

In Cubitos you and your fellow players race each other in a cubic world, by building the best dice pool possible!

Each round you start by selecting your dice, then you all throw together and if you have at least three results, you make the choice of either pushing your luck and throwing again, or settling with the outcome as is, since when you throw again and the dice show no results, you gain nothing but a step forward on the supportertrack.

When all players have their results, they take turns starting with the first player resolving them dice! Results can give you steps on the race track, some other special power that comes with the coloured dice or coins to buy new dice. In this way each player personalises their own dice pool!

Players continue these rounds until a player crosses the finish line! The player who is first to cross the finish line, wins the game!

Thoughts

This is the first dice building game I've ever played, it seems a lot like deck building, with the odds of a die and thus, a lot of rolling. And I think by now, you might already know how much Iove deck building!

This game is so much fun! Rolling, improving your own pool and rolling, rolling, rolling! It really makes me happy.

what also makes me very happy is the replayability. Each colour dice comes with a lot of different powers, which you can change between games, the possibilities are endless!

I really like it when games combine racing mechanics with pool building. If you like racing games with a dice building (or deck building) element, this is a gem in its kind!
